RULES 2008-2011

ENGINES: Cast iron small blocks not to exceed 366 cubic inches. Stock type [no exotic, i.e. titanium billets or super light, etc] steel or cast cranks only, but do not have to be stock stroke. 45lb.min.

All engine components will retain all casting and forging numbers and markings, NO GRINDING. Any part with the markings ground off will be declared illegal. No titanium engine parts other than valve spring retainers.

HEADS: Any cast iron heads approved [Ports not to exceed 200cc] Intake valves no bigger than 2.055, exhaust valve no bigger than 1.65. Angle milling OK. No porting, polishing, or grinding in the valve area or gasket matching of aftermarket heads. Valve job will not exceed a maximum depth of .500 inch below the final 60 or 70 degree cut below the 45 degree valve seat. There will be no blending or otherwise altering the bowl area below the final cut. Heads may be machined for larger valves, etc. in the usual manner. Stock heads may be ported, polished, and matched.

CAM: Any flat tappet cam. NO mushroom cams, NO rollers and no oversized lifters. Lifter bores may be bushed for blueprinting purpose, but must remain stock size for that engine. Chevy engine must use Chevy lifters – Ford in Ford, etc. Roller Rockers ok. Type optional.

CARBURETORS: 750 H/P gasoline or 500 cfm 2 bbl or 390 cfm 4 bbl on alcohol with stock venturies and butterflies. Choke horns may be machined off. All carbs must keep stock throttle, shafts, and butterflies. Throttle shafts may be blended but not to exceed .187 checked by gauge. Butterfly screws may be replaced with aftermarket screws, but no welding. Stub stacks OK. Stock straight leg boosters, no modifications [checked with booster gauge]. Choke and air inlet area o 6895 carbs may be ground and blended to look more like "HP" Series . No grinding or blending in venturi area! Billet base plates & metering blocks OK. ALL CARBS MUST PASS TRACK GAUGES!

PISTONS: optional

**Set back of no more than 4 inches from centerline of upper ball joint to #1 plug. Also, the centerline of the crank will be in line with the centerline of the car. NO offset engines! ** On all chassis types.

RADIATORS: must remain in the front of the car with no auxiliary radiators or coolers in the driver’s area. Radiator bars must be within the body.

TRANSMISSION: Must have a working forward and reverse and a functioning clutch. All manual transmissions will have an inspection hole in the bell housing for the inspection of flywheels and clutches. No hand clutches.

Manual transmissions with a Stock OE. type flywheel will use a scatter shield Automatics can use either a blanket or a ring gear cover at least 3" wide.

CHASSIS: Any 1955 or newer American made passenger car chassis may be used. Chassis must have a stock front stub with conventional coil springs [5inch or larger] mounted in stock location on stock lower control arms. A stock stub is defined as having a stock frame from the center of the lower ball joint straight back 22 inches, not counting bends [ measured in a straight line ] Tubular upper a-arms ok .Wheelbase minimum of 103".

2008 UPDATES : #1 beginning in 2008 a 2x2 tubular clip car will be eligible to compete in this class , this style chassis will be required to carry an additional 100 lbs of ballast forward of the centerline of the ball joint and at a height not to exceed the top of the main frame rails and will be required to have a total weight of 2950lbs

Front ballast must be easily removable for inspection at the scales

#2 stock stub cars that choose to switch to coil over front shocks will weigh 2900lbs.

Rear suspension may consist of Coil springs, coil-overs, coil over eliminators, or steel or carbon fiber leaf springs.

ROLL CAGES: must be at least 1-1/2" minimum OD with .095 wall thickness and be at least a 4 point cage with 3 door bars on the driver’s side. Gussets must be used at stress points. Roll cage and bracing may run front to rear, but be enclosed in side the body and nose piece. Nerf bars may be no larger than 1x3 rectangular tubing mounted flush against the body. Ends of nerf bars must be turned in toward the body with no sharp corners. Nerf bars required between the rear tires and bumper to help prevent tangling.

BODIES: Any 55 or newer American made bodies or replicas.

Steel or aluminum OK. Fiberglass roof or hood OK. All bodies must resemble stock bodylines. No wedge cars. Minimum window opening 12". Maximum rear deck height 39". No kick outs, wicker bills, or spoilers on C pillars. Tops of fenders doors or deck lid no longer have to be rounded. Nose section must not exceed 45" from the center of the hub to the leading edge of the nose. Factory built plastic or rubber noses resembling stock cars only and must be same as body Ford on Ford GM on GM etc. Front and rear tow loops must be easily accessible for wrecker crews;

PENALTY IS LAST PLACE POINTS Rear bumpers may be tubing or stock type but must be capable of being pushed.

SPOILERS: Maximum 8" tall not to exceed the width of the rear deck and no higher than 45" total. SPOILER will not extend past the rear bumper so car can be pushed by wrecker with out damage to spoiler or wrecker.

INTERIOR: Must have front and rear firewall and floor pan. Full aluminum interior OK. Drivers compartment must be fully enclosed on sides front and rear no open holes!

WEIGHT: Stock stub 2850lbs after feature with driver in it.

WHEELS: Steel wheels maximum of 12" wide Bead locks OK.

STEERING: Any OEM steering including rack and pinion, Steering may be speeded up. Aftermarket stock type boxes or racks OK.

EXHAUST: No side exits. Mufflers required type is optional. Must not exceed 95 decibels at track side Headers OK type is optional.

FUEL CELL: Cells must be securely mounted with a minimum of 4,3/8 bolts and be in a steel container. If your fuel cell does not have a aircraft style positive seal filler neck / cap system a flapper, spring or ball type filler rollover valve is required You must have some type of a roll over valve in the vent

FUEL: Alcohol or racing fuel only, No Nitro or Nitrous oxide. Fuel must check within two points of track fuel

REAR-ENDS: Stock type rear ends or quick changes OK.

MISCELLANEOUS: No dry sump oil systems. Starter’s mandatory, type optional. All cars will be self starting at the beginning of the evening. If you have to be push started you will go to the back.
